Midwinter (Amiga)

Midwinter was the first open world game I ever played, and, frankly, one of the few I still absolutely love. Not only did the game feature a huge, snowy, 3D island to explore with the help of skis, buggies, hang-gliders and even cable cars, it also managed to effortlessly support a unique blend of adventure and strategy gameplay elements. I'm pretty sure it was the first game to allow for first person sniping too.

Anyway. The game's one of Microprose's gems, but you probably knew that already, so here's a lovely copy of Midwinter for the Amiga that's made itself available on eBay. It comes in its original box with manual, map, 3.5" disk and technical supplement. Seller ships worldwide.

The console has been tested and is working, seems to have been finely preserved and comes in its Control Deck box. A couple of controllers, the RF unit, cables and the power supply are included. Seller ships worldwide.

Discworld Noir (PC CD-ROM)

It's not only that Discworld Noir dared to launch in 1999 during the dark times of the Great Adventure Gaming Crisis; it's that Discworld Noir is the best adventure ever set on Terry Pratchett's Discworld. It is innovative, funny, excellently designed and impressively written and thus a noir-fantasy game I deeply love.

Handily then, this mouth-watering Discwolrd Noir (PC) eBay auction has just gone live and is incredibly tempting even for my Discworld-owning self. You'll be bidding on the original 1999 PC-CD version of the game complete in its factory sealed big box.

The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy (C64)

Co-authored by Steve Meretzky and Douglas Adams, Infocom's The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy is one of the funniest games ever and a unique, highly intriguing and downright brutal text adventure. It might not be the pinnacle of interactive fiction design, mind you, but THHGTTG is filled with outrageous ideas, imaginative puzzles and tons of laugh-out-loud moments.

What's more, a boxed and rather rare Commodore 64 5.25" disk version of the game has been put up for sale via this The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy (C64) eBay auction. Zaxxon Mini Tabletop Arcade

Back in 1982 this Coleco/Sega produced mini arcade must have seemed like a marvel of technology, and, having given it a try a few years ago, I must admit it holds up pretty well today too. And in case you are wondering, this is actually a Zaxxon Mini Tabletop Arcade that's been put for auction on eBay, seems to be working just fine, is in good cosmetic condition and only lacks its battery cover.

Seller ships to the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

One Oric-1 Micro Computer

Released in 1983 by Tangerine Computer Systems, the Oric-1 was supposed to take on the mighty ZX Spectrum. The micro came in 16- and 48-k versions, sported proper 3-channel sound, featured an uncomfortable keyboard and a 6502A CPU. It was cheap, suffered from coour-clash and, as you may have noticed, failed to sell too well, despite being rather popular in France. Find out more about the rather obscure Oric-1 herehere and here.

To own a system you can do much worse than biding on this Oric-1 eBay auction. The computer comes complete in its original box, seems to be in excellent cosmetic condition and is fully functional. It is obviously accompanied by leads, demo tape, manual, PSU etc.

Seller ships to many places worldwide.
